A
Fortune 100 client in the petrochemical industry was seeking to increase the level of
teamwork within and among several facilities. The company needed improved
coordination of efforts, communications, conflict management, problem solving,
decision-making, and cooperation. They had tried various approaches to
"teambuilding", but with poor results.
We
designed and delivered a series of innovative learning programs, coaching initiatives
and consulting interventions concentrating on "applied teamwork".
When
asked what they found most beneficial about the programs, employees stated:
"The
hands-on challenges made you participate in and experience teamwork."
"This
opened some eyes (mine). I expected psychobabble-hocus pocus, but found
real use!"
"Seeing
everyone work together (or try). You see we can when we are
willing."
"Experiencing
the group communication, participation and energy!"
"Seeing
how people from the different plants can work together so well."
When
asked if the programs related to their jobs; were helpful and useful:
"Very
relevant, caused me to reflect on my personal behaviors and beliefs."
"I
learned the real purpose of teamwork."
"This
will help me be more empathetic in dealing with diverse groups of
people."
"I
have to work in a small group of people. This really helped me see how
we can improve our combined efforts."
"As
a supervisor, I learned how to be more helpful and support others ideas."
"As
a leader in our group, I learned a lot about how to achieve more through
others."
"Every
day I work with many different groups. This has really helped me see how
I can function effectively in whatever group I'm in at the time."
"I
will use this all day, every day!"
When
asked about the overall approach, consultants and facilitators:
"Great
consultants and facilitators!"
"They
successfully focused on 'teamwork', as opposed to 'teams'. Thank
you."
"Great
consultants, very knowledgeable!"
"Facilitators
were fantastic, very knowledgeable and fun. A lot of help."
"This
was a very unique experience. The facilitators were very knowledgeable
and humorous - the training went by too quickly."
"I
just wish more of our training sessions could be this much FUN!"
"Everyone.
Twice a year." |
